Have you ever gone a whole day without food? ...Two days?
|
Sadly, many children in our community go an entire weekend with little or no food when school meals are not available. One child told us that on Friday, he tried to eat as much of his friends’ leftover lunch as he could hold — because he didn’t know if he would have anything to eat again until Monday morning.
Children who face food insecurity often struggle in school — poor attendance, difficulty concentrating, and behavior challenges are common. |

Our Mission
We believe no child should go hungry — especially when that hunger can impact their learning, health, and future.
That’s why our Backpack Food Program sends home a bag of nutritious, easy-to-prepare food every Friday during the school year. The food is for the weekend, when school breakfasts and lunches aren’t available.
How It Works
That’s why our Backpack Food Program sends home a bag of nutritious, easy-to-prepare food every Friday during the school year. The food is for the weekend, when school breakfasts and lunches aren’t available.
How It Works
- Volunteers assemble food bags each week.
- On Friday afternoons, students receive a backpack filled with food to take home.
- The food is discreet and easy to prepare — giving dignity to children and families.
- Each backpack helps ensure the child has meals for the weekend..
Why Monthly Support Matters
Consistency is key. Monthly donations allow us to plan and purchase food in bulk — and guarantee that any child who needs weekend meals gets them all year long.
Even a small monthly gift helps — and adds up quickly when many neighbors give together.
